Palak Paneer
Soft paneer in blanched spinach with fenugreek and cream.
Crisp golden turnovers with spiced potato or chicken filling.
India's favorite street snack, and the correct way to start any order at Sonny's. Our Vegetable Samosa ($6 for two) is a crisp, golden turnover packed with spiced potatoes and peas; the Samosa Platter ($13, four pieces) lets you mix veg, chicken, lamb, and paneer samosas.
A good samosa is about contrast — shattering crust outside, soft savory filling inside, cold chutney on top. Ours are fried to order, never held under a heat lamp, and served with mint and tamarind chutneys that do the seasoning's final work. They're the ideal shareable starter (2–3 pieces per person at parties), a kid-approved snack, and the single most-added item to catering orders. Vegetarians take note: the vegetable version is meat-free through and through.

What guests ask us most about samosas.
A samosa is a fried South Asian pastry — a triangular turnover with a crisp shell, traditionally filled with spiced potatoes and peas, served with mint and tamarind chutneys.
Our Vegetable Samosas are fully vegetarian (spiced potatoes and peas). We also offer paneer, chicken, and lamb keema samosas, plus a mix-and-match Samosa Platter.
The filling is gently spiced, not hot. Heat comes from the chutneys — add as much or as little as you like.
Plan 2–3 pieces per guest as part of a spread. For catering across the Chatham and Morris County area, samosa platters are our most-requested appetizer.
